~ Kruzenshtern i Parohod is BACK!!! ~
Posted on 04.11.2007 at 15:13Yeah!...I've been waiting for this moment for so long... After such a long period of silence, they played a short setup on Aukzion concert, leaving me with uncertain feeling of "something different is going on" - but what?!... And finally, last night I watched them performing full program at Levontin club. So?... It was absolutely gorgeous, unbelievable and unforgettable concert.
The program included both old, but sounds a little different, songs along with a new ones. KiP undoubtedly became much more mature band that it was before, although it was clear from the very early days, that this band is extremely professional in their composing and performing abilities. Igor Krutogolov hasn't changed his main approach of composing - he tells us his tales, as ones my grandma did. He brings me the feeling of being little child in the world of fantasy. But, on the other hand, as I told before, the music is much more sophisticated and mature...and not only technically (I don't understand how they can play like this without having they tools crumbling to dust!), but emotionally at first. May be I dreaming but I've heard them sarcastically laughing, telling me about their inner world, with its happiness and sadness. So, may be I'm a just pathetic psycho fan.....
So, back to concert. KiP was almost always bringing something new and fresh into their performances - we can still remember the musical saw, plastic childish guitars, and many other things - this time it was tearing paper intro and of course THE VOICES...this very recognizable watermark of this band (one must hear it to understand). Atmosphere in this club was really good, despite of the more then unpleasant concert hall - small stage, terrible sound of mixing dynamics and monitors, and the lighting...there was nothing that could be named "lighting". Sometimes I wander, if there is some psycho fashion in Israeli's clubs for this perverted lighting. Bringing one white spot onstage would make its work better then three yellowish and magentas lamps coming on musicians from behind. Anyway, I did it b&W... :)
So...I'm waiting for the new album to come and new shows to see... Thank You Igor, Ruslan, Guy and Olcha, LOVE YOU ALL!
